My name is Chris Kirsch

and I am a photo artist from Germany. The main focus of my work is currently "street & people" but I also like to shoot extraordinary landscapes and close-up portraits. As you can see many of my pictures are black & white with an accentuated contrast - I just like this dynamic and timeless look.

By the way: none of the pics are 'photoshopped', that means that I never change the 'true' content of a picture, but of course there is plenty of post-processing like cropping, modifying contrast and saturation (For this kind of work I use Adobe Lightroom, the pics are captured with Leica gear - except the photos from the iPhone gallery of course).

The photos in this gallery are more or less brand new and have been taken in 2013-2016 during different private backpacking or professional business trips in South Africa, Mexico, Thailand, Laos, India, France and Germany. Many of these pictures are also listed in the established 'Mastershot' gallery of the LFI magazine (Leica Fotografie International).

Creative background

As a kid in the late '70s I got my first cheap analog camera - and it was love at first sight! I took pictures wherever and whenever......and it never really changed. Since that time taking photos has always been an essential part of my life. In the early '90s I started my business career in a full service advertising agency that provided a full equipped photo studio including not only many well-known medium size camera brands like Hasselblad, Mamiya and Rolleiflex but also different large sized cameras. During that time I worked on numerous customer projects and got many skills regarding camera, lens, light & processing technique. The last twenty years I have been in charge of the marketing of different companies and within this role I supervised a multiplicity of different photo jobs. Nowadays I work as a managing director of a consulting company with the main focus on Business Development & Marketing.
